Short-term mentoring - $350
What it includes: 3 hours of one-on-one mentoring, up to 10,000 words reviewed
Short-term mentoring is for anyone wanting one-on-one advice and training in an area of their choice. Whether you’re looking for some direct feedback on the first chapter of your book, help developing a social media plan, advice on submitting to publishers, or help developing a writing routine, this short-term mentoring plan is an opportunity to build your skills and knowledge.
The 3 hours of one-on-one mentoring can be taken in one sitting or broken up into two or three sessions. Mentoring can take place in person for those based in Perth, Western Australia, or via Zoom for those based elsewhere. The review of 10,000 words can be a sample of your writing or your manuscript outline. For editors, it may be a sample of a manuscript or your report.
Following this initial consultation, mentoring sessions can be continued at $70 per hour.
Accountability mentoring - $850*
What it includes: monthly catchups for 12 months; the first session is 2 hours, reducing to 1 hour each session thereafter
Accountability mentoring is great for those struggling to get their words on the page or who struggle to keep to their own writing plans and goals. Each month we meet, either via Zoom or in person, for a check-in about how your writing is going, whether you’re on track to meet your goals, and what struggles you may be facing either in finding time to write or in the manuscript itself. Together we can troubleshoot problems, come up with potential solutions, and help you achieve your writing ambitions.
This level of mentoring does not involve reading any of your manuscript. It is perfect for those in need of a cheerleader, accountability and/or support but who are not ready for feedback on their writing.
Manuscript mentoring - $2,500*
What it includes: monthly catchups for 12 months + monthly reviews of up to 7,500 words each month.
Manuscript mentoring is great for those who need help during the self-editing stage and are looking for feedback on their manuscript as they go through the process of self-editing. Each month, you can send up to 7,500 words of your manuscript for me to review and provide feedback on including the use of track changes and comments to help identify any issues with style or clarity. We will then meet, either via Zoom or in person, to discuss the manuscript or to discuss any other aspects of writing and publishing that you would like assistance with. Whether that’s developing your writing routine, discussing preparations for submitting to publishers, developing your online presence, or just helping your find the motivation to keep going, these catchups are an opportunity to build your understanding and knowledge of writing and publishing.
This level of mentoring is perfect for those with at least a first draft of their manuscript who need help with the self-editing process.
*Monthly payment plans are available for the long-term mentoring options
